Logo Link has embarked upon a new initiative called “Global Charter on Right to Participation in Local Democratic Governance”. It is envisaged that the Global Charter will enable deepening of citizen participation in local democracy by up-scaling, mainstreaming and institutionalising citizen participation in all spheres of democratic governance. It is also envisioned that the preparation of Global Charter will catalyse numerous deliberations involving a range of stakeholders – citizen leaders, practitioners, policy makers, elected representatives, media, academia, and so on. This will act as bridging initiative between civil society, local, sub-national and national governments, political society, private sector and other stakeholders.
The purpose of this online COP is to create a shared online platform where participants will provide input and engage in discussion. This discussion will be one of the important inputs based on which the building blocks and contents of the Global Charter will be prepared. less

We want to stress the difference between communication and information (which are often confused as being the same), between information and knowledge (which are way apart) and between the process (always participatory) and the messages (dissemination).
