The document is based on an assignment undertaken as part of the ODL Certificate programme of PRIA International Academy of Life Long Learning (PIALL) on Participatory Training methodology. The assignment task was to “(a) identify a training programme that you have attended recently and discuss the factors that affected have contributed or obstructed your learning and (b) on the basis of learning of the PTM course, how differently would you have designed the training”.

The document describes the experience of Mr Louise Belinfante of attending a training and highlights the aspects which facilitated and obstructed his learning. It further demonstrates how on the basis of his learning and experiences of attending this training, he designed a training intervention which was participatory in nature.
